Dress it... bride: Winter White

I love the modern silhouette of this Elie Saab dress from his 2013 Spring ready-to-wear collection, weaving patterns on the upper with a flowy pleated skirt. It's simple but yet so captivating.

Winter White ... Pretty wrapped up

How pretty are these gift wraps! These wonderful gift wraps by Grey Likes Weddings are featured on Style Me Pretty and you can check out how unbelievably easy it is to create one of them. These will make a great centerpiece display.

Winter White ... Single blooms

This makes such a visually stunning tables cape. I love that there are no big lush arrangements, just single blooms each displayed in beautiful glass and ceramic vases. The vessels holding the blooms are just as captivating as the arrangements.

Winter White ... Centerpiece

Setting out to create a centerpiece that consists of only monochromatic colors can seem boring, but think of the varied textures that can be introduced, and you may get a bit light-headed. It can be a simple arrangement of big showy flowers or a mix of small hi-lo arrangements. It can be the use of chiffon or tulle draped across the room or lace table runners lining the tables. Having an array of patterns create a sense of dimension to a muted palette, that's calming yet interesting.

Style Board: Winter White

Cool white teamed with warm ivory, and infused with pale grey and blue, creates a wonderfully inviting palette. Given the muted colors, texture takes center stage. Lace and tulle, ruffles and spindly pines, they add amazing details to a winter white theme.

Winter White

I love decorating with wonderful bursts of color, but there are some periods when I find a white on white palette strangely soothing, especially at this time of the year. Stay tuned for the style board of the month: Winter White.

Bell Jar Displays

A really clever way of using bell jars to showcase a centerpiece. Display a small arrangement on a glass pedestal bowl and cap it with a bell jar, it's simple yet elegant. For stunning visuals when your guests enter the room, alternate the tables with the bell jar displays and tall centerpieces.

I love dramatic hair for weddings, there's no better time to show off a great hairdo than on the big day, but of course one that fits the wedding theme and dress style. This shoot featured on Grey Likes Weddings shows off wonderful styling for the bride and groom, and the bridesmaid as well. Enjoy!

Roll out the ribbons

No fancy flower arrangements needed, just simple twirls of ribbons. Ribbons are tied to the chairs along the aisle with a sprinkling of flower petals, lanterns hung overhead the ceremony area, and a ribbon curtain decorates the end of the aisle. I love that the decor really complements the garden setting. The greenery stands out, while the decor still holds it own.

Hanging flower lanterns

I've been pondering for a while, what theme to focus on for the month of November. But I'm having such a bad block, nothing is calling out to me for attention. So for November, I will, instead, throw up bits of pretty details that you can use for your wedding, with some improvisation.

I adore these handmade lanterns, fashioned from lampshade frames and paper flowers. So adorable and really perfect for garden parties. Look for lampshades in various shapes to add visual impact, and hang paper flowers from the frame in your wedding color. Check out the post "Wedding Inspiration with Tangerine Tango" on Green Wedding Shoes.

Cool days ... Backdrop

Creating a backdrop may sound like a mammoth task, but there are lots of options available to help you create that masterpiece perfect for your wedding. Lengths of ribbons and cloth bring wonderful softness, and handmade paper pinwheel fans add interesting dimension and texture to a display. Try one that fits your style.

Cool Days ... Drink it up

Signature drinks are a great addition to a wedding, guests get to sample a concoction that reflects your tastes and it's a wonderful way of incorporating your wedding theme into the food. Can't decide on what cocktails to serve? Work with a bartender to come up with some great mixes, and invite the girls for a cocktail sampling bridal party. It'll be lots of fun.

I love the coolness of mint cream. The colour pale and soft, is enough to cool you down on a hot summer day, with a caprioska in hand of course. It makes a wonderful colour palette teamed with turquoise and cobalt blue. I envision the colours for an urban wedding. A white loft space decorated with white table linens, dotted with mint, turquoise and cobalt blue decor.

Style Board: Country Blue

A good pair of jeans will probably last you a lifetime, it's so much part of our wardrobe, more for some, a little less for others. For those who are in love with the comfort of denim, it just seems such a no brainer to make that a part of the wedding theme. I imagine the pairing of chambray blue with crisp white, accented with dashes of navy. For a modern take, keep with a venue that's filled with white-washed walls, long tables and chairs. Display flowers in rustic wooden crates or steel buckets. The look is effortless chic.

Bag it ... Gift it in a bag

Searching for a thoughtful gift for the girls may be tough when there's so many choices out there. I've always been very fond of the idea of packing a gift bag instead. What can be better than stashing a lovely straw bag with a beach towel, refreshing face mist and a great read! Select a bag that can be slung over the shoulders or hung on the arms for greater versatility. This large basket bag from Zara is a perfect choice.
