Watercolour Dreams ... Little details

I love the idea of painting a mini masterpiece as gifting them as favors. It feels personal and shows your guests how much you really appreciate their presence. You do not have to create anything fancy, just simple patterns with a good mix of watercolours will warm their hearts. Use ribbons and tassels to bring out the essence of a watercolour theme, it is easy and budget-friendly.

Style Board: Watercolour Dreams

There is so much creativity that you can showcase with this theme. Create small watercolour paintings of splatters or streaks, keeping things geometric helps to ground the kaleidoscope of colours. Arranging flowers in vases according to their colors resemble a paint palette and creates greater impact. I love the idea of illustrating the gown and bouquet, it's a great keepsake that makes wonderful decor in a new home.

Dreamy Ruffles ... Chair back waterfall

You have got to love this. It's romantic, it's subtle, and it's perfect for the theme. The use of sheer chiffon or tulle balances the voluminous curves of the ruffles.

Little details really bring the wedding theme together. Interesting chair back decor, handmade lanterns and pom poms, fun napkin holders are pieces that you can use to give your wedding a fresh look. I especially adore the rustic wreath seen below, it's simple but makes such a visual impact. It's great as a wall decor for your new home!

Citrus Crush ... Pretty Outdoor Setting

Love, love, love this setup for a chic outdoor wedding. Hanging little jars filled with sprigs of flowers amongst small flower pomanders adds such wonderful visuals and scent. Complete the seemingly floating decor with a chandelier, divine! A display of flowers on a log lies low on the long table, and complements the jars and pomanders hanging from the ceiling. The decor comes together so well, I can imagine the exact look for a cosy dining area at home.

Citrus Crush ... Getaway car

Uber chic, I love the colour of the car. The cans hanging from the bumper is a fun detail to add. But as a safety precaution, make the ribbons shorter so that it hangs slightly off the bumper and not drag on the ground.

Cherry Blossom Joy ... Favors for keeps

Pretty prints galore! Chiyogami paper and printed fabric are perfect for creating simple gifts. Wrapping wooden or acrylic bangles with chiyogami paper, dressing a notebook with cherry blossom printed fabric, slotting place cards on origami cherry blossom, and using beautiful kimono fabric for wrapping favors furoshiki style. Etsy has some worthy finds.

Cherry Blossom Joy ... Just a little DIY

For many of us, cherry blossoms are not readily available, even the faux ones are hard to come by sometimes, so crafting tiny blossoms resembling the delicate flower is a great budget friendly way to create decor for the theme. This great DIY from Martha Stewart Weddings is easy, and you can create a similar arrangement for the table centerpiece. You can purchase ready-made cherry blossom confetti, or cherry blossom paper punches and create the tiny blooms in shades of pink. Have fun crafting!

Lavender Pistachio Cream ... a little DIY backdrop

Veering a little from the colour palette of the month, I found this coral and mint backdrop so irresistible, it called for a post.The art work of paper wheels and pom poms created an inviting and light hearted setting thats perfect for a springtime celebration. I can see this backdrop recreated in shades of lavender, pistachio and buttercream yellow. A fantastic project to work on with the girls.

I love this rustic wreath crafted from artificial pip berries from WildRidgeDesign. Lovely as decor at the entrance to your ceremony or reception, it creates a focal point that will draw your guests' attention. There is something so warm and inviting about it, your guests will feel right at home.

Style Board: Lavender Pistachio Cream

Warm days beckon for refreshing colours to cool us down. A soft pastel mix of lavender and pistachio provides reprieve from the glare and heat of the sun. Keep the background simple with whites and cream, then splash out the colours on the centerpieces, table linens and food. Oriental Splendor ... Birdcage decor

These birdcages make wonderful complements to hanging paper and silk lanterns. Bamboo birdcage exudes old world charm, perfect for creating a pretty centerpiece when decorated with peonies. Opt for a simple birdcage and spray paint it gold for a touch of grandeur.

Evening Pastels ... Try a little DIY decor

Decorating a venue may sound like a mammoth task, but there are some simple tricks that can instantly dress up the place without you having to break a nail or leave a gaping hole in your pocket. 
Paper lanterns are wonderful double duty props, they create pretty visuals and provide soft lighting. Instead of just choosing solid colored lanterns, throw a mix of solids and patterns. I love the use of fabric garlands for outdoor decoration. The fabric strips gently fluttering in the wind is such a beautiful sight to behold. Don't limit those pretty hanging globes to the christmas trees, they are lovely stacked in pyramids and displayed in pedestal glass bowls. Try these, and be totally bowled over.

Evening Pastels ... Table Setting

No fancy flower arrangements needed, just simple twirls of ribbons. Ribbons are tied to the chairs along the aisle with a sprinkling of flower petals, lanterns hung overhead the ceremony area, and a ribbon curtain decorates the end of the aisle. I love that the decor really complements the garden setting. The greenery stands out, while the decor still holds it own.

I've been pondering for a while, what theme to focus on for the month of November. But I'm having such a bad block, nothing is calling out to me for attention. So for November, I will, instead, throw up bits of pretty details that you can use for your wedding, with some improvisation.

I adore these handmade lanterns, fashioned from lampshade frames and paper flowers. So adorable and really perfect for garden parties. Look for lampshades in various shapes to add visual impact, and hang paper flowers from the frame in your wedding color. Go Green ... Succulent favor

It's a place card and a favor for your guest. A small potted succulent with the guest's name doubles as a gift.
