Oriental Splendor ... Gift to go

I love unconventional packaging for favors, instead of the usual cardboard boxes, these mini bamboo steamer baskets are such a fun way of injecting that oriental touch. Fill it with Chinese pastries, and you could even slip a pair of wooden chopsticks into the ribbons.

Style Board: Oriental Splendor

What can be more befitting as a focal point for an Oriental themed celebration than a peony? It is known as the flower of riches and honor. A greatly loved bloom in Chinese history, the peony symbolizes romance and happy marriage. I love its dramatic silhouette and beautiful shades of pink and red. I love an intricate peony motif printed on invites, napkins and favor boxes. Throw in some quintessential elements of Chinese culture: earthen teapots for serving fragrant Chinese tea, wooden chopsticks for favors, and clusters of paper lanterns to create a visual spectacle.
