Gather everyone for fabric fun

Incorporating DIY elements into your wedding makes it more personal and inviting. You do not have to dive into difficult projects, pick simple projects so that you can gather a few close friends over coffee and have fun working on the projects together.

1. Fabric hanging ornament via oh, hello friend. Tie strips of ribbons and fabric to a wire frame, then suspend the wire frame onto trees. Wind blowing at the frames will create a lovely slight.
2. Paper doily cones via heartmade. These easy-to-make doily cones are perfect for holding confetti.
3. Doily parasol via papermash. Pop these mini parasols in your drinks before serving them to your guests.
4. Lace embroidery hoop panels via Style me pretty. Select various sizes of embroidery hoops and lace patterned fabric in white, cream and grey, assemble them then thread through thin ribbons and hang around your ceremony area.

Print it on your cake

The design of the cake was inspired by the texture of the gown worn by the bride, it's amazing how each tier looks like its draped with lace and fabric. A wonderful detail that's understated and yet alluring.

Detail it on your invites

Intricate lace details printed on your invites gives your guests the first look into what your wedding theme is. You could also go simple with a monotone slate colored invite, but do select an elegant font. For an extra touch of detail, add a paper doily as an envelope insert or use a lace ribbon to bundle the invite.

Little Lace details

Little details make a whole lot of difference when it comes to decorating your wedding. The colors and decor of the reception sets the mood, the little details pull the whole look together, from the doily seating card holders to the lace patterned vases, the favors wrapped in lace to the intricate lace ring pillows.

Off to the vineyard

Came across some photos of the beautiful Mudbrick Vineyard on Waiheke Island, New Zealand. The lush greenery of the working vineyard coupled with the amazing view of the sea is a perfect backdrop for an outdoor wedding and reception. The theme of Lace, Sticks and Stones will merge seamlessly with the surroundings.

Lace, Sticks & Stones

I love the organic feel of putting fabrics with wood and stones. The subtle hints of colors blend so perfectly, looking at them will put anyone at ease. It is a wonderful play of texture and color. Here's a look at how it can all come together.

Lace, Sticks & Stones inspiration

Lace has such varied and intricate patterns, and is such a wonderful fabric to work with. Its soft texture exudes a romantic and feminine appeal. When paired with neutrals and natural material, its beauty truly shines.
